Glycolic Peels Glycolic peels are becoming popular once again after being popularized ten years ago. Temporarily pushed aside by other fruit acid peels, glycolics are now recognized to be quite effective yet gentle because of the small size of this molecule, which is derived from sugar cane. A series of medical-grade peels gradually exfoliates the top layer of dead skin cells to reveal a fresher, healthier-appearing skin. Glycolic peels also increase collagen production under the skin. Treatments take about 10 minutes; a series of three to six peels is recommended for reduction of dyspigmentation and improved clarity of the skin. |
